Materials Handling And Process Engineering - Samples of our diverse experience

Automation Projects

  • Centrix was engaged to design and build the mould handling section of a new soft mud brick plant for Midland Brick. This was part of an overall $60 million upgrade and involved working with a variety of technologies and contractors to ensure a smooth integration.

  • Centrix was contracted to review the throughput of a new mineral processing facility. As a result of the review, Centrix identified deficiencies in the original plant layout and provided input into different automation systems to improve throughput significantly.

Design, manufacture and upgrades to a variety of special purpose lifting devices
  • Railcar jacks up to 25 tonne lifting capacity each, synchronized into groups of four to lift up to 100 tonne for the Australian Railroad Group.

Carry out research and development to design and build innovative solutions
  • Centrix was requested to design and manufacture a special purpose glass reclaim device to remove broken glass from a section of a glass production line.  The specifications were very restricted with regards to available space and an innovative solution was designed, R&D conducted and the device manufactured.

  • A client requested a solution for cutting crayfish safely and accurately in half. No off-the-shelf solutions were available and therefore a unique device was required to be designed and manufactured.

  • Centrix was engaged to design and manufacture a unit that could be placed over a wireline to provide a readout of the length of cable that passes through the unit to an accuracy of +/- 1cm and rate readout in metres per minute.
